    Resume:

Prof. Xiang-qun Cui is a Professor in Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIAOT, CAS).

She was elected academician of CAS in 2009, academician of Third World Academy of Sciences, and served as the General Engineer of the national mega scientific project, the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), president of the Chinese Astronomical Society, committee member of Optical and Infrared Branch and Astronomical Instrumentation Branch in the International Astronomical Union, Vice Director of National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAO, CAS), Director of NIAOT, CAS, NPC member of the 12th National People’s Congress and CPPCC member of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Prof. Cui is mainly engaged in the field of large astronomical telescope design and construction.

Prof. Xiang-qun Cui’s main achievements are listed below.

    1) Made a significant contribution for core component (8.2m active deformable mirror) in the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in European Southern Observatory.

2)Led and developed the largest field of view telescope LAMOST since 1994, with many international cutting-edge new technologies and independent innovations. It opens a new era of active optical technology in telescope research and development in China, and advances the level of telescope research in China to the international forefront, create conditions for the development of the next generation of maximum aperture telescope in China.

3)First developed active stress mirror polishing technology in China.

4)One of the main initiators for astronomical observation in Dome A, Antarctic.

5)Won the second prize twice of National Natural Science Award.

6)Won the first prize twice of Natural Science Award, Jiangsu Province.

7)Won the second prize of Natural Science Award, Jiangsu Province.

8)Received the Science and Technology Progress Award of Ho Leung Ho Lee (HLHL) Foundation in 2013.

9)Received the title of National outstanding professional and technical personnel.
